How has your thinking about art changed during the semester? Was there a particular unit that you learned a lot in?
My thinking of art was just the basic, colors, sculpture, and different designs, as well paintings and simple things like that. Never would I have thought making a piece of art out of glass or using dandelions as paintbrushes, what changed was I learned about different artists. These artists used things that you never would guess that could make beautiful things, as well giving it a deeper meaning then what meets the eye. When I made the glass jar with broken glass in it, this changed how I could make a point by using strange items and forming it into a deeper meaning. The unit that I learned the most from was Artists Solve Problems, different artists had a problem that they found a way around. Examples are a shaky hand or eyesight is not very well, but this did not stop them from making beautiful pieces of art. This taught me that there is always another way to do things, you shouldn't give up you should try to find different ways to create the piece of art. What I ended up doing was using dandelions as a paint brush, it is a simple thing that easily replaces a paintbrush.
What do you notice about how your art making skills, including how you interpret themes, have changed when you compare your drawing from the beginning of the course to your more recent one?
In the beginning there was space, okay not really in this case, but in the beginning of Art 2 I drew deathish stuff, ( I know Deathish is not a word but life is about being creative so for this situation it's a word). It did not have much meaning to it, I just drew it for a grade and continued on to the next piece of work. As I experimented and learned more I started making things that were happy and has more of a meaning to me. My art works theme were as well repetitive (dark stuff) but as I worked more each piece of my art had it's own theme and it's own meaning. I did also use charcoal for the first two projects but then I ventured out and used other supplies, a few time I used actual items for a sculpture. My art skills has definitely improved and changed, there is nothing that I would change about the risks I took about going beyond my comfort zone to change my art skills.

What unit or project was your favorite? Why did you like it?
My favorite project was Artist steal, this will always be my favorite project of all time, I felt like Banksy because I "vandalized" without getting in trouble. I think it is so cool that Banksy does street art that has a deep meaning and no one knows who he is which is another thing that I love about it. For this project I spray painted the word greed onto a strip of wall paper, then I glues it to a stop sign so for a few minutes it was illegal. How many times can you say you glues graffiti onto a stop sign and go away with it, not many times I can tell you that. The bummer part about this was that people new i did it and it was my project so it's not like i had a secret identity like Banksy but the experience was still very fun. As well i learned something that i always think about, "The bad artists imitate, the great artists steal." i love that, it made my view on "stealing" idea different then most people, stealing isn't bad as long as it has your own work into it, or your own interpretations.
