For this project I decided to do wood burning as a relief. I enjoyed burning the wood, it was very relaxing and calming. The smell did give me a headache after a while but it wasn't to bad. The problem I ran into there wasn't enough depth to the piece. It needed more relief to be considered a relief piece. What I ended up doing (which I hated) was using a jigsaw to cut out the moon. It was loud and terrifying to do but overall when it was finished it turned out really well. Another thing I found difficult was coming up with a relief idea. I either found it uninteresting or to challenging but thankfully I found wood burning. I learned a lot about this project. That burning hair does not smell pleasant. That you truly can find the smell of burning wood sickening after a while. The biggest thing I learned was that it wasn't to bad of a project. I never knew that wood burning was even a thing until now. It's a very beautiful form of art that, to be honest, I won't do again because it's just not my thing. Other than that I think my first time at it wasn't to bad. |
