In unit one I learned a lot possibly more than I thought I would learn about art. I learned the difference between dead flowers and dying flowers. In the drawing process I had to blend a lot of different colors, I used browns and dark greens to get that dead effect. It was difficult because I had an image in mind, but it turned out a little differently. Back to the dying comment they didn't exactly turn out dead, but in the end it still worked out. The contrast in the background was fun to do, I used charcoal and paper towel to get it to look foggy. The tombstones I have used an eraser to make them stand out yet it still had a spooky effect. For the perspective part of our warm ups was extremely challenging for me. I am awful at drawing buildings by just looking at one, as well I didn't use a ruler. That was my biggest mistake of my first drawing, as you could see the lines were off. The building looked like it was floating in the air and it has been just down right awful. The second time I did it, I used a ruler as well, I watched you teach it more. I learned about the vanishing points and how helpful, they are when it comes to drawing perspective. I will definitely say that I did improve on the perspective part of art, but I still don't like doing it.
